A Perfect Winter Day

The neighborhood kids had so much fun sledding down the steep driveway into our little "Happy Valley".  I joined them and went down on about 5 toboggan rides down the big hill.  In case the pictures don't show it justice, this hill is about 1/4 mile long from end to end.  I believe Nick holds the record for longest sled ride.  What a blast!

Winter Wonderland

The first snow of the season fell last night.  We got about 2-3 inches of prime, snowball-quality snow.  Nick is thrilled at the prospect of having a snowball fight with his cousin, as well as the possibility of no school tomorrow.  Remember what that was like when you were a kid?  

Here are some pictures of our back yard that show how much snow we have.  If you look on the hot tub cover, you can see that it looks like about 2+ inches.

My New Yoga Buddy!

I have been positively hooked on Bikram Yoga (aka - "Hot" yoga) for about 4 weeks now.  It is an amazing yoga workout done in a studio heated to about 110 degrees and about 40% humidity.  You really get a good sweat on and work every cell of your body!  It is not easy by any stretch of the imagination.  Well, I was trying (unsuccessfully) to get Ward to do this with me.  Nick approached me and said he wanted to try it with me.  I would have never guessed that Nick would be interested.  Well, he went with me tonight and he loved it.  He rested when he needed to and tried what he could.  Afterwards, we went to the natural food grocery store that is nearby and bought Odwalla juices to rejuvenate our bodies. Then we went out to dinner together.  It was a wonderful time and I am so glad to share this with him.  I asked him when he wanted to go again, and suggested tomorrow evening since he doesn't have baseball.  He replied, "mom, I want to enjoy yoga once in a while... I am not obsessed, like you."  Smart boy. 

Nick is in the Maple Valley Voice

The Bruins baseball team are shown in the Maple Valley "Voice of the Valley" this week.  Nick is on the far right, back row.  Be sure to grab a copy from the local news stand!!  This is his debut appearance in the newspaper. Woohoo!

Sick with the Flu

Yuck - I've had the flu all weekend.  I hate being sick.  Achy headache & body aches and stomach distress!!  I missed our company Christmas party and worse yet - I've missed 2 Hot Yoga sessions.  I don't think I've posted much about Hot Yoga, but I am completely obsessed with it.   More appropriately, it's called Bikram Yoga.  

Anywho - when I was able to sit up this weekend, I put together this website as a place for people to post their cute Christmas Kitty pictures.  I have 2 pictures posted so far!!  If you have an adorable holiday kitty picture and would like to add to the collection let me know.  The big "learning opportunity" for me is that I built it from scratch, sans any fancy website generation tools.  

I am taking a sick-day today to continue recovering....
